Q: What does your role with the City entail?

A: “I represent the City for people who are looking to start new businesses – assisting them through the commercial check process to make sure that what they want to do is zone applicable. I also do development reviews of apartments, single-family homes and so on. Additionally, I handle long-range projects guiding the City through its Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code (LDC) updates."

Q: What do you enjoy about your role with the City?

A: “I never lose sight that I'm a servant of the public. So, every decision that I make and everything that I do, I make a conscious effort to represent the citizens of this community. I never lose sight of the fact that I represent the citizens to the fullest of my abilities.”

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in the #Zephyrhills area?

A: “I’m an outdoors person, so I love hiking and biking. There’s such a vast woodland out here, not just next to Zephyrhills but the entire Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve. One of my other passions is photography; I love taking pictures of nature. I’m also an avid reader and writer.”

Q: Why should people move or visit Zephyrhills?

A: “We are blessed with so many different outdoor activities. But, here’s the great thing about Zephyrhills: We’re 30 minutes from downtown Tampa, so you’re outside that hustle and bustle. In Zephyrhills, you’ve got that small-town, hometown feel where you can personally know each other on a whole different level. You can thrive here, and then when you want access to a major event like a pro football or pro baseball game, it’s just 30 minutes away. I feel like I live on the edge. In Zephyrhills, you’ve got the best of both worlds, because you’ve got the woods surrounding us and then the big city feel of Tampa. So, that’s all really exciting.”

Q: What advice do you have for career-seekers?

A: “To learn in everything that you’re doing, even if it’s painful. Like, even if there’s a particular teacher or parent that you may not like or is hard on you, or if you’re in a difficult situation, there’s always things to learn. So, it’s important to learn from those experiences and situations.”
